It’s absolutely free to apply online today and you’re welcome to do so. However, at Xavier, we take a more holistic approach to admissions and student services. In fact, our Catholic, Jesuit tradition and care for the whole person is what truly sets us apart from the competition. Therefore, at the very least, we encourage you to complete the following checklist before you click “submit” on the application:

  • Read the EMBA Declaration of Ethos
  • Schedule a classroom visit
  • Talk with an academic advisor
  • Talk with your family
  • Talk with a current student
  • Talk with an alum
  • Talk with your employer (and let us help you if necessary)

Admission

We value all of our MBA students, but only the best of the best can be accepted into the EMBA program. Therefore we have designed an application process which allows us to build the strongest cohort each year. Our goal is to admit between 25 to 30 students each year. We encourage you to apply, and if accepted, you’ll be joining an extremely select group of individuals.

Are You Eligible?

  • Do you have a minimum of 7 years post-graduate, professional work experience or 10 years of leadership experience preferred as demonstrated by current full-time employment and proof of career progression? (Note: military veterans, experienced entrepreneurs, and independent consultants may also be considered).
  • Do you have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college of university? (Note: EMBA candidates without undergraduate degrees with significant managerial experience and leadership potential may also be considered).
  • Do you have the potential to successfully complete graduate work in business administration within a condensed and fast-paced program?
  • Can you and your family commit mentally, physically, and financially to the program?
  • If necessary, can your employer commit to allowing you the minimum of time off to attend class and/or are you willing to make sacrifices in order to meet your program commitments?
  • Do you demonstrate maturity and attainment of a responsible, organizational position?

If you answered “yes” to each of the questions above then apply today. If you answered “no” or “maybe” to any of the questions then contact an academic advisor today to discuss your options in more detail.

The total cost of the Executive MBA program for the cohort starting in fall 2012 and graduating in 2014 will be $61,274. This total includes tuition, textbooks, classroom materials, lab fees, lodging and ground transportation for the international residency (airfare may be additional), graduation fees, campus parking, catered dining services and other administrative and value-added services. A $1,000 nonrefundable tuition deposit is immediately due upon acceptance into the program.

Payment Plans

We understand the EMBA program is a major investment of both your time and resources. Therefore we have designed payment plans exclusively for EMBA candidates to assist with the financial obligations of the student. Whether you’re self-funding or your employer is paying 25, 75, or 100 percent, the EMBA Office will work with you to accommodate your needs. In general, the total cost is broken down into 5 semester payments due at the end of each semester. All students accepted into the EMBA program will be required to sign a payment contract prior to starting the program and will be enrolled in the Xavier Pay system which publishes a monthly eBill statement. For more information on the eBill process please visit the Bursar’s Office.

Financial Assistance

In addition to receiving possible grants and scholarships from the EMBA Office, federal and state loan programs are also available to participants. Interested individuals should visit the Financial Aid’s Office for more details.

Military Veterans

Xavier University is part of the Yellow Ribbon Program. As part of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 provision, the VA will cover $17,500 of the school’s tuition. For the remaining tuition balance, Xavier University will cover 50% and the VA will cover 50%. Veterans may also be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Please note that government regulations are constantly being modified and these changes may impact your military education benefits. We encourage you to contact the Veteran’s Affairs Office within Xavier University to determine what the latest benefits are and how they can be applied at Xavier.
