Students will learn how to take professional pictures from beginning to end. The class starts with the basic functions of a SLR camera and moves through planning a shoot, booking models and equipment, studio lighting and post-processing. This class is aimed at novice to intermediate photographers who are interested in portrait or product photography or just learning more about their camera and is designed to teach you all the skills you need to start shooting like a professional right away.

Students will learn how to take professional pictures from beginning to end. The class starts with the basic functions of a SLR camera and moves through planning a shoot, booking models and equipment, studio lighting and post-processing. This class is aimed at novice to intermediate photographers who are interested in portrait or product photography or just learning more about their camera and is designed to teach you all the skills you need to start shooting like a professional right away.

The class will consist of a 1 hour lecture/presentation followed by a 1 hour hands-on lesson shooting products on a tabletop. Then the exciting part: 1 hour shooting a real fashion model and working with a professional stylist and makeup artist. Lastly, a 1 hour lesson on post-processing your images and retouching using Photoshop.

Students should bring a notebook if they wish and a camera that allows manual control of the shutter and aperture, preferably a DSLR. Students will receive a digital copy of all the images they shoot during the class.
