Part-Time MBA

The Parttime Master of Business Administration gets you a part-time master's degree in business administration. It is quite similar to the executive MBA program. The difference is that the part-time program is more tailored to the early working professional, while the executive MBA is tailored to the working professionals that have a minimum of 10 years of working experience and are already in a high management position. Courses in the MBA programs are designed to introduce students to different fields of business. They arrange from finance, human resources, marketing, accounting to operations management and further.

Advantages:

Career acceleration

A part-time program can help you accelerate the job you already enjoy. It is good way to accelerate your career progression.

Maintain family responsibilities

A part-time program is your best choice if your family responsibilities make it impractical to drop out of the job market for two years to go full-time.

Less expensive

You continue to make a salary while you are in school. This makes a Part-Time MBA much less expensive than a Full-Time one. The biggest cost of a full-time MBA is not the tuition—it’s the salary you give up for the two years you are in school. This reduces the cost drastically

No need to relocate

You avoid the costs of relocating somewhere, because most Part-Time students choose a local business school instead of an international one.

Disadvantages:

Sacrifice and Stress

Carrying courses aside of a full-time job requires great management skills and sacrifices from you and your family.

No summer internship

If you want to do an MBA because you want to change fields, a Part-Time MBA has a disadvantage because it often doesn't offer a summer internship to try the new field with a prospective employer on a limited commitment basis.

Less academic involvement

Part-timers won't be immersed totally in the academic environment of a full-time program and will always be distracted by their full-time job.
