Description

The Sociology AS Level Course will present you with a number of various sociological theories and ask you to draw on your own experience and background, as well as the information learnt in the course. Students can draw on their past experiences and background knowledge to test the accuracy of the various Sociological theories that will be presented, and to use them alongside the new information with which you will be provided to answer essay and examination questions.

The Sociology AS Level Course will present you with a number of various sociological theories and ask you to draw on your own experience and background, as well as the information learnt in the course. Students can draw on their past experiences and background knowledge to test the accuracy of the various Sociological theories that will be presented, and to use them alongside the new information with which you will be provided to answer essay and examination questions.

This course is divided into the following units:

  2. Methods in Context
  3. Theory and Methods
  4. Families and Households
Each lesson begins with a set of clearly stated objectives and an explanation of its place in the overall programme of study. Effective learning is encouraged through frequent activities and self- assessment questions. There are eight Tutor-Marked Assignments (known as TMAs).   On completion of their study students would arrange examinations with a local exam centre as a private candidate.  Each of the lessons on this syllabus begins with a set of clear objectives and an explanation of its place within the overall programme of study. Effective learning is encouraged through frequent activities and self-assessment questions. There are 7 Tutor-Marked Assignments (known as TMAs) in this course.
