In contrast with many other Business Schools, the GMAT score of the students who apply for the Else School of Management is increasing. Impressively, 99% of the school's graduates find a job within three months of graduating. Suggesting some significant improvements in the curriculum. These positive statistics coincide with the rejuvenation of classrooms, the employment of more staff, and the improvement to the school's technology. We hope that this positive trend continues, as the Else School of Management is on the way up!
Millsaps College Else School of Management is recognized nationally as an outstanding liberal arts college. Millsaps is one of only seven such colleges in the USA to house a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and have its business programs accredited by the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business. In 1941, the first BA degree with a major in economics was awarded. In 1974, the bachelors’ in Business Administration degree was added and with the organization of the School of Management the curriculum was expanded to include a MBA (1979), a MAcc (1994) and an Executive MBA (2012).
Millsaps College is a small liberal arts school located in
Jackson, MS. The business school, Else School of Management,
is one of seven schools in the U.S. that has had a chapter of Phi
Beta Kappa and is accredited by AACSB. In April 2011, the
Else School of Management went through reaccreditation. A
suggestion that the committee had for the Else School was to add
the Executive MBA program. The dean and faculty were on board
and by May the business school had a marketing plan, the curriculum
and a start date of January 2012.
Future goals and plans for the MBA program will be to continue
providing a flexible curriculum to part and full-time students
through the leadership of our nationally ranked faculty and
staff. We also plan to improve facilities and technology so
that the Else School is on the cutting edge with businesses
throughout our region.
The Else School combines the intellectual richness and individual attention associated with a nationally recognized liberal arts college with the curricular strength and relevancy associated with an AACSB-accredited program. The traditional MBA’s flexible curriculum enables students to pursue their particular career interests in the classroom, while the Executive MBA provides a more intense educational experience for the seasoned professional. The Else School has partnerships with financial institutions, healthcare organizations, and government offices that provide students with internship opportunities as well as opportunities for full-time employment. In addition, the faculty of the Else School has established strategic alliances with entrepreneurial ventures that enable our students to gain experience with start up and small businesses. The Else School offers experiential learning at their facility in Merida, Yucatan and in Europe.
